A resident of Basking Ridge, New Jersey has called on officials to help explain the mysterious crater that’s appeared in her backyard earlier this month.
Scientists and law enforcement officials have viewed the 18” deep hole that’s about the size of a coffee table and are stumped. Based on the way the grass was flattened around the hole, the homeowner suspects something “blew” out of the ground. Explosives and meteors have been ruled out, but officials have yet to offer any other explanations. Jerry Vinski, a planetarium director, calls the situation “really, really weird.”
