Philly Spring Cleanup Day

Philly Spring Cleanup

A pestilence has been lying dormant this winter hidden under snow piles and in the muck behind car tires. But now as the spring thaw begins and we prepare to once again embrace the great outdoors, we’ll come face to face with the plague that’s contributed as much to our city’s reputation as have Rocky and the cheese steak: litter.

Litter is a persistent problem contributing negatively to quality of life and the value of our property.  In nearly every neighborhood, you’ll find litter lining the streets and piling up in storm drains. And though the city has taken great steps to combat the problem, it’s up to us residents to pitch in this spring.

The Streets Department will hold its annual Philly Spring Cleanup on Saturday, April 2.  Greenlimbs is pleased to join the event by hosting cleanups in our area (exact locations TBD) and is asking residents take to the streets on April 2, put on some gloves, pick up a bag and help eradicate the plague of litter that gives our city a bad rap.

Check back here for updates on this year’s efforts and to find more information on how you can volunteer with greenlimbs.  You may also contact your Block Captain to get involved in your neighborhood.
