Google Earth has created a series of videos and tours to combat climate change and coincide with the United Nations Climate Change conference currently being held in Cancun, Mexico.
In one video, “Coping with Climate Change,” Kofi Annan narrates footage of people who are forced to cope with climate changes already impacting their communities. He urges viewers to support groups actively fighting climate change. The site also allows views to view maps of greenhouse gas emissions and forest preservation.
Google is also taking a stab at education and advocacy with their Google Earth for Educators site. The site offers tools for teachers who want to incorporate climate change education into their lesson plans.
Google not only advocates for combating climate change, but actively participates in the cause by encouraging employees to limit their carbon footprint by way of a three-step program to become carbon neutral.
