As we drove into Maine, we saw a sign that said Maine is the largest producer of blueberries in the country.  August is prime blueberry picking and we were ready to pick, eat, have blue fingertips and smile blue smiles.

How can I give a second life to images that were lost? I decided to collect the photographs I had seen in the bin and imagery from the trash.

Running is by far the hardest thing I’ve ever set out to do.  Instead of pummeling the (fat, old, chain-smoking) competition, I find myself bringing up the rear on the group runs and struggling to control my wind as I converse with my running partner.

I am the world’s worst vegetarian.   I fall off the meat wagon so often my knees are scraped and my head is concussed.  I’ve seen all the slaughterhouse videos, read all the books, and understand the moral and environmental ramifications of being a carnivore, and yet, I can’t commit to quitting.

The problem is that Prowler - that’s what I call him - does most of his destruction under cover of night and when he does emerge during the day, I’m either elbow deep in the act of grilling or in my living room two stories up out of shooting range.
