Garden Pops-Up in Center City

PHS Pop Up Garden, PHS garden, Philadelphia city garden, Philly urban gardening

If you work in Center City and are looking for a way to spend your lunch hour this summer, look no further than the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society’s (PHS) Pop-Up Garden on 20th & Chestnut.

The garden is open to the public from 12-2pm Wednesdays and Thursdays this summer and offers a natural respite from the work day.

Visitors on Thursdays can also participate in workshops:

August 4: Gardening Odds and Ends-Fabulous Containers

September 1: Edible Landscapes-Growing Beautiful Food

September 22: Edible Landscapes-Planting and Harvesting

Produce from the garden will be used by some of Philly’s best chefs at restaurants like R2L, Table 31, Sampan, Barbuzzo, Paradiso, and Square 1682. Proceeds from dishes made with Pop-Up produce will go to City Harvest, a PHS program serving Philly’s most vulnerable residents with fresh foods.
